on this coast

Captain Pelikan grew from nearly 20 years of living, exploring and sharing Portugal’s coastline, mountains and local culture through surfing, windsurfing, biking, trekking and outdoor filmmaking.

More than a holiday, we create authentic experiences around nature, the ocean and the conditions of the moment—from premium e-bikes on hidden trails to uncrowded waves and small local places far from mass tourism.

Quality equipment and good guidance matter, but the atmosphere matters most: simple, human and welcoming. Guests arrive as travellers and leave feeling like friends who discovered Portugal from the inside.

My life has always revolved around the ocean, nature and adventure. I’ve been riding bikes since the age of three and windsurfing since nine, always looking for new places, people and experiences. That journey led me to Guincho, one of Europe’s iconic wind and surf spots, where I chose to build my life.

Alongside outdoor sports I built a career as a photographer and filmmaker. In 2018 I began photographing Nazaré’s giant waves from a jet ski—an experience that reinforced what drives me: being outside and sharing those moments.

Captain Pelikan brings those worlds together: local knowledge, carefully chosen equipment, a comfortable home base and adventures planned around the people and conditions of each day.
